Convert Markdown to DOCX in C#

MarkdownToDocxConverter turns Markdown into a Word document: a # becomes a heading, a pipe table becomes a real Word table. Nothing in the conversion reaches the network or the disk.

using DocToolkit;

string markdown = "# Invoice 2026-114\n\nDue on receipt";
byte[] docx = MarkdownToDocxConverter.Convert(markdown);
File.WriteAllBytes("output.docx", docx);

What it needs

  • No browser, headless or otherwise.
  • No Office install, and no LibreOffice.
  • No native files: managed code only.
  • No network at runtime, unless you ask for it.

Good to know

  • Synchronous, and the input is a string, not a byte[]: Markdown is text. There is no file overload; read the file and pass the string.
  • Headings, emphasis, lists, links, code blocks, blockquotes and tables all come through.
  • A remote image becomes a hyperlink carrying its alt text, a local file reference is refused, and data: images are embedded, up to 32 MB.
  • ConvertWithReport lists each loss as an Approximation, an Omission or a Failure.
